Adult Bar/Bat Mitzvah
For a variety of
reasons, there are a number of Jewish adults in our community who choose to
celebrate the B'nei Mitzvah rite of passage later in life, and we of course celebrate this
choice.
Approximately every two years we
hold a class for adults in our congregation to become B’nei mitzvah or to
re-affirm their status as B’nei Mitzvah.
The class will include Basic Hebrew
for which no prior knowledge of Hebrew is required, but we will move quickly so
that at the end of the class you will be reading from the Torah! Together we
will explore some basic concepts of Judaism and try to address that which you
were never taught or that which you do not remember from your own experiences in
religious school. If this is something that you’ve been considering, go for it!
Rabbi Hillel once said, “if not now, when?” Should you have any questions,
