B’nei Mitzvah Components
Mitzvah Projects: Each of our
B’nei Mitzvah students spends a significant amount of time creating and
implementing a “Mitzvah Project” in the greater community. Often the project
echoes the passion(s) of the individual student, and this project becomes a real
highlight of the B’nei Mitzvah process as a whole. If you would be interested in
learning more about a particular Mitzvah Project or supporting our children’s
projects, please follow the link Mitzvah Projects.
Team Approach: We are very proud of our team approach at
Temple Beth Shalom and this is especially true in our B’nei Mitzvah program. As
each student prepares to become a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, he or she will have the
opportunity to work closely with all three of our rabbis, at least one of our
cantorial soloists, as well as a tutor.
For Adults interested in
Celebrating Bar or Bat Mitzvah: For a variety of reasons, there are a number of
Jewish adults in our community who choose to celebrate this rite of passage
later in life, and we of course celebrate this choice. Traditionally we have
held a course for adults interested in becoming B’nei Mitzvah every two years.
