Funerals: Finding Comfort At a Time of Loss
tradition is clear. In the shadow of loss, our community and our rituals are
intended reach out to us with acts that bring solace, comfort, and support.
As a member of Temple Beth Shalom, if you should experience the loss of
a loved one, please contact either the Temple directly (click here
for contact information and one of our
office assistants will contact one of our rabbis immediately) or the funeral
home with whom you are working. As all of the local funeral homes have the cell
phone and home phone numbers of our rabbis this option is particularly helpful
if the temple office is closed.

As well, the Temple Beth Shalom community also reaches
out to all of our families who experience a loss. Our congregational family will
offer to be at your home for you during the time of the funeral, to lead shiva
minyan services in your home or in the home of a loved one, to bring food for
you and your family – both during shiva and, if necessary, beyond.
