Project Ezra
Originally, conceived by the Synagogue
Council of Massachusetts, Project Ezra encourages congregations to help their
respective communities on Christmas Day. Each year Temple Beth Shalom mobilizes
to prepare and deliver up to 150 home cooked meals with greetings to recipients
throughout Needham who are most likely to find comfort and joy on personally
receiving their meal and gift bag. This is a joint effort of Temple Beth Shalom
and the Needham Community Council. Temple Beth Shalom has been involved with
Project Ezra for more than two decades. Our program is chaired by Lois and Ron
Sockol along with June and Richard Atkind.
There are many avenues for
utilizing your talents to help make this event successful. We need people to
cook the turkeys we provide, to carve the turkeys, to bake finger desserts, to
assemble meals, and to deliver them to the waiting recipients. For more
information, contact Lois Sockol (lsockol@comcast.net)
or June Atkind (junatkind@aol.com).
