Temple Funds
Rabbi Perlman’s Discretionary
Fund – Rabbi Perlman administers this fund at his discretion, for
various organizations, activities and charitable causes. Checks should be made
out directly to Rabbi Perlman’s Discretionary Fund.
Rabbi
Markley’s Discretionary Fund – Rabbi Markley administers this fund at
his discretion, for various organizations, activities and charitable causes.
Checks should be made out directly to Rabbi Markley’s Discretionary Fund.
Cantor Jonas’ Discretionary Fund – Cantor Jonas administers this fund at her discretion, for various organizations, activities and charitable causes. Checks should be made out directly to Cantor Jonas’ Discretionary Fund.
Rabbi Lenke’s Discretionary Fund – Rabbi Lenke
administers this fund at her discretion, for various organizations, activities
and charitable causes. Checks should be made out directly to Rabbi Lenke’s
Discretionary Fund.
Chesed Fund – supports the
activities of the Chesed Committee which provides physical, emotional and
spiritual support and comfort to our Temple community during times of illness
and loss, and also shares simchas with families during joyous occasions.
Children’s Center Fund - This fund is used for the
purchase of new educational materials and supplies for the Children’s Center.
Community Outreach Fund - The fund's purpose is to
develop a sense of good fellowship and a healthy connection between the Jewish
and non-Jewish local community.
Education Fund - This
fund is used for the purchase of special equipment, to subsidize special
programs, and for staff development which will enrich the teaching and
curriculum of the Temple Religious School.
Endowment Fund - Funds
are used to create a permanent endowment for the Temple’s needs. A minimum
$50.00 donation is required for this fund.
General Fund
- This fund is used for the general operating needs of the Temple.
Jerry Aransky Passport to Israel
Fund - Funds are used to support the Passport to Israel program which
helps to fund trips to Israel for Temple Beth Shalom high school students.
Library Fund - Funds are used to maintain and supply
the Temple Library with current Judaica as well as texts, encyclopedias, audio
and video materials as are appropriate.
Memorial Board
Fund - This fund provides a permanent plaque to be placed on the
Memorial Board in memory of a loved one. Donation for the purchase of a plaque
is $360 for Temple Members and $540.00 for non-members. Plaques come with a
permanent Yahrzeit.
Music Fund - Funds provide for the
enrichment of Sabbath and Holiday Services and support the Temple choirs.
Contributions are also solicited to help provide special music programs
throughout the year.
Patti and Louis Grossman Education Scholarship Fund - Funds are used to provide scholarship funds for Temple education to families experiencing financial hardship. The fund may be utilized for Temple classes ranging from pre-school through high school for formal and informal Jewish learning.
Prayerbook Fund - Funds are used to supply new prayer
books to the Sanctuary. Donations are accepted in any amount; for a $54 donation
a bookplate will be placed in one of the prayer books.
Richard
Todd Sacks Jewish Life Education Fund - This fund supports Adult
Education programs and Family Connection Programs at our Temple.
Safety & Security Fund - Funds are used for security and safety enhancements to the Temple’s physical plant and parking infrastructure as well as for disaster preparedness planning.
Sanctuary Flower Fund - The Beth Shalom Garden Club
provides flowers for all services. Donations are accepted in any amount, but a
minimum donation of $175 covers the cost of Sanctuary flowers for special
occasions, and includes notation in the weekly Shabbat program. Checks should be
made directly to the Beth Shalom Garden Club and sent to the Temple Office.
Sisterhood Oneg Fund - The Sisterhood provides an Oneg
for all Friday Night Services and special holidays throughout the year.
Donations are accepted in any amount, however a minimum donation of $200
includes notation in the weekly Shabbat program. Checks should be made directly
to the TBS Sisterhood and sent to the Temple office.
Social
Action Fund - This fund sponsors programs that support our moral
commitment to worthwhile causes.
Torah and Sanctuary
Fund - Funds are used to maintain and refurbish the Temple Sanctuary.
Torah Commentary Fund - Funds are used to supply new
Torah Commentaries for the Sanctuary. Donations are accepted in any amount; for
a $72 donation a bookplate will be placed in one of the Torah Commentaries.
Tree of Life Fund - This fund provides a permanent Leaf
to be placed on the Tree in honor of a simcha or memorable occasion. Donation
for the purchase of an engraved leaf is $250.
Youth
Fund - Funds are used to provide scholarships to Regional Institutes
for BESTY (Senior Youth Group) members. Funds also provide for purchase and
maintenance of equipment and materials for the Youth Room.
Permanent Memorial Funds:
Gersten/Hoisington Memorial Lecture Fund - Funds
provide for a one-night lecture by a guest speaker in memory of Sumner
Hoisington and Shirley Gersten-Hoisington
Kivi Grebber Memorial
Fund - Funds provide scholarship assistance to needy children of Temple
members to attend a Jewish camping experience, special educational programs, and
trips to Israel.
Amy Sanker Kappel Fund - Funds are
used to provide college scholarships for Temple Beth Shalom students who are
also members of BESTY.
Ned Saltzberg Memorial Fund -
Funds are used directly to subsidize special activities and field trips for the
Religious School students.
