Shabbat at Temple Beth Shalom is a time for spirited song, prayer and sharing as a community. We invite you to end your week with us as we seek rest and renewal.
Our Shabbat evening services are joyful, participatory, and rich with beautiful music led by our Cantorial Intern, D.J. Fortine or Emily Perlman. Our services feature guitar, piano, percussion, oftentimes flute, and always our voices raised together in song.
The prayer book's poetry and a thought-provoking weekly D'var Torah (Torah Teaching) inspires reflection and provides timely insight as we consider how Jewish wisdom might inform our own life journeys.
First and Second Friday of the Month: 7:15 pm
These later services are followed by a delicious oneg (a joyful reception complete with sweet refreshments).
Third, Fourth and Fifth Friday of the Month: 6:15 pm
These earlier services are preceded, beginning at 5:30 pm, by a delicious pre-neg (cheese, cut vegetables, fruit, hors d'oeuvres (bagel bits, mozzarella sticks, etc.), wine, juice) in our beautiful Community Court. The earlier service time more easily allows families with children to attend and provides an opportunity for Shabbat dinner at home (or out) following services.
First Friday of the Month - Tot Shabbat: 6:15 pm
Families with young children are invited to share in an age-appropriate Shabbat service led by our very own Josh Shriber. Each Tot Shabbat service is filled with energy, family warmth, song, dance and light. We enjoy a delicious treat after our service. Note: the first Tot Shabbat will be hedl on October 13, 2017 (the second Friday of that month instead of the first Friday)
