The High Holy Days
Temple Beth Shalom is a wonderful place to celebrate the start of a new year. Prayers and special programs that reflect the beauty and spiritual meaning of our tradition’s holiest of days help us to focus on how to make the year ahead one of joy and peace.
Holiday Evening Services
Our evening holiday services include spirited celebrations of Sukkot, Simchat Torah, Chanukah, Purim, and Shavuot. Each service begins is filled with music and fun for all ages.
Holiday Morning Services
We also gather for worship on the mornings of Sukkot, Simchat Torah, Purim, Passover (both on the first day and on the seventh day), and Shavuot. Unless otherwise listed, our services include a special breakfast buffet appropriate for the holiday. Yizkor (a special service of memory and remembrance) is observed on the mornings of Simchat Torah, the seventh day of Passover, Shavuot morning, and during the afternoon of Yom Kippur.
Holiday Service Especially for Our Preschoolers
On the afternoons of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur we offer special services for teens and for all young children and their families. Also, at the time of Sukkot, Chanukah, Purim and Shavuot, during that month’s “Tot Shabbat,” we share in special prayers, stories, and songs that reflect the joy of the holiday.
During the year, we also observe other holy moments in our calendar, including Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day), Yom HaZikaron (Memorial Day for Israel), Yom HaAtzmaut (Israel Independence Day), and Rosh Chodesh (the New Month).
