Carvalho’s Journey tells the story of Solomon Carvalho, the first professional Jewish photographer, who in 1853, with no experience in rugged life, joined an expedition into the wilds of the American West. The documentary depicts the challenges in capturing the adventure on film as the trip turned into an epic struggle for survival.

Steve Rivo, the film’s director, will enrich our experience with background, personal anecdote, and Q&A. Both the film and conversation with Steve are virtual. Film (1hr, 25 minutes) will be available for viewing on your own prior to Steve’s discussion. Sponsored by Three Score/More or Less, universally appealing, open to the entire TBS community.
