Cuba’s Forgotten Jewels: National Center for Jewish Film Documentary-View & Discuss with Directors

Sunday, December 12, 3:00-4:30 PM

Register here.

Cuba’s Forgotten Jewels recounts the tales about Cuba that Marion Kreith has told her daughter, co-director Judy Kreith. Marion escaped war torn Europe as a young girl, evading Nazi capture and crossing the Atlantic to a tropical paradise. Firsthand survivor accounts take us back to 1940s Havana where Jews were able to start a successful diamond trade.

Robin Truesdale and Judy Kreith, the film’s directors, will enrich our experience with background, personal anecdote, and Q&A. Special guest, Marion, now a sharp and spunky 94, will also participate. Both the film and conversation with Robin and Judy are virtual. Film (45 minutes) will be available for viewing on your own prior to the directors’ discussion. Universally appealing, open to the entire TBS community. Cost - $18 per household. Send check (via electronic banking or in the mail), prior to the event payable to Temple Beth Shalom, to: Temple Beth Shalom, 670 Highland Ave., Needham, MA 02494. Note ‘3Score Cuba’ in the memo. Join us for this fascinating immigration story! This program is cosponsored by Three Score/More or Less and the TBS Tzedek Committee. Questions? Contact threescoremoreorless@tbsneedham.org.
