The Michael Sockol Jewish Writers Fund Presents: Noah Feldman –To Be A Jew Today

Sunday, October 27, 9:30 am

The Michael Sockol Jewish Writers Fund presents noted professor, author, and columnist Noah Feldmanspeaking about his recently published book, To Be a Jew Today. Mr. Feldman  is the Felix Frankfurter Professor of Law, the founding director of the Julis-Rabinowitz Program on Jewish and Israeli Law at Harvard University, and the author of ten books. In his new book, Mr. Feldman focuses on contemporary Judaism and how Jews can and should make sense of their tradition — and each other. In Feldman's view, all Jews engage in the “theology of struggle” -- each of us wrestles with whether God exists, who God is, and what God wants. His book also states that the founding of Israel transformed Judaism itself  — and explores the current, ongoing consequences of that transformation.
