The Zamir Chorale of Boston, performing on stages across Europe, Israel, and North America, has achieved the distinction for setting the bar for Jewish musical excellence and innovation, with its mission: To bring the joy of Jewish music that transcends age, religious and ethnic background to audiences throughout the world. Zamir has remained committed to the highest quality performance of music that spans thousands of years, four continents, and a variety of styles, both popular and classical. Its founder and artistic director, Josh Jacobson, an award-winning conductor (and TBS’s immediate past Scholar-in-Residence), is now considered to be one of the world’s leading authorities on Jewish choral music.

On November 13th, Zamir — featuring familiar conducting interns, Liana Perlman and Cantor DJ Fortine— will present a concert at TBS which will showcase diverse repertoire by a wide range of composers including Salamone Rossi, Max Janowski, Kurt Weill, Cantor Benjie-Ellen Schiller, Leonard Cohen, and Woody Guthrie. This 90-minute concert will also feature varied settings of Psalm 150, hence the concert’s title: Halleluyah!

While TBS remains a mask optional building, masks are encouraged for this program at the request of the Zamir Chorale.
