Join Rick for an intimate journey of song, story, and spirit! A delicious Chanukah luncheon will make our time together extra enjoyable and sweet!

5:30 pm–Rick joins Mayim Tamid T’filah

7:15 pm–Pre-Chanukah Erev Shabbat Service and oneg

Rick will bring amazing energy and joy to our service – elevating our spirits as we get in the mood for Chanukah! Special musical guests will join us to make our service even more fun. A Chanukah-themed oneg will follow.


Saturday, December 17

9:00 am–Chanukah Concert for Families with Young Children

Join us for a morning of music and celebration! We'll rock out with a kids' concert with Rick Recht including all our Shabbat and Chanukah favorites. Then stay for challah and a Chanukah craft! For a preview of Rick’s music, click here.


This program is designed especially for families of children ages six and under, who are not enrolled in the TBS Children's Center. All are welcome!


Sunday, December 18

9:00 & 10:15 am–Chanukah Concert and Brunch for Children’s Center families

11:15 am–Rick joins Youth Choir

4:00 pm–Light Up the Night Concert and Community Chanukah Celebration

Join us as we “light up” TBS with a spirit-filled Chanukah community concert featuring Rick! The concert will be family-friendly and is perfect for adults and families with children ages 5+. Following the concert we will light the menorah as a community, enjoy delicious latkes and sufganiot (jelly doughnuts), play dreidel and enjoy several incredible light-themed activities, including: LED balloon twisting, UV face painting, and light-filled crafts.


Rick will be with us from December 14 through 18. Throughout our Artist-in-Residency, Rick will spend musically rich time with the full spectrum of our Temple Beth Shalom community! Rick will bring inspiration to our lay leaders, our professional staff, members of our learning program faculties, our Mayim children, our Etzim music elective participants, our Youth Choir, our TBS Children’s Center, TBS Families with Young Children, and more!
